Dedicated to preservation, conservation and restoration of Florida's native plants and their communities.
On a sunny Saturday morning, June 14, 2025, volunteers from the Hernando Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society gathered at the corner of Broad Street and Main Street in downtown Brooksville. Shovels in hand and native plants at the ready, they began transforming two newly adopted garden beds as part of the City of Brooksville's beautification board’s "Adopt-a-Spot" program.
The Adopt-a-Spot initiative invites local organizations to help maintain and beautify designated public spaces throughout the city. For the Hernando Chapter, this was more than a civic beautification project—it was a chance to bring awareness to the ecological value and beauty of Florida's native flora.
